There is quick work-around, which is create a “Custom Field” of type “Releases” and then attach the custom field to the “Epics”.
To filter the “Epics” in releases, you can use “More Filters” and the Custom Field will appear there and you would be able to search the Epics linked to specific release.

In long term, we are evaluating the option again to see what kind of linking we can offer between Epic to Releases.
We will update this thread next week.

Anything? This prevents us from using Yodiz as a long-term planning tool. Releases more than a few months away are impossible to have user stories for - that's why they are epics. Even if this is implemented where the epics are siblings to user stories instead of a hierarchy, that would be huge. Or even that an epic in the release "masks" the user stories in the release associated with the user story. Literally any ability to tie epics to releases would really help out.
