Regarding Planning Board both things that you mentioned are already known and good thing is, we just started couple of days ago activity to improve planning board. We know that it is bit lagging behind compare to other boards.
Our goal is to give users option to reorder user stories, create inline user stories and issues, have info bar at top, which shows average velocity and then in real time shows you, how many points you have already picked for particular sprint or release.
Beside it, we also plan to show total number of hours available, based on duration of sprint and number of members in project.
It is actually excellent time to share all of your input regarding planning board.

And also be able to add user stories on the planning board? I'm new to Yodiz, so take it with a grain of salt. Just sharing what comes up as I try things.
